Submit to the Game Garden!

Video Games

It's free to submit your game to the Game Garden. Our showcase will be curated by the Game Garden team and a selection of trusted local developers. When evaluating game submissions, here are some criteria we'll be looking for:

• Made in and Around Vancouver

  The Game Garden is first and foremost a showcase of the talent we have right here in our community. All games must be primarily developed in British Columbia.

• Teams from Diverse Backgrounds

  We want the Game Garden to be a showcase of the many different people and cultures that make up the city of Vancouver. Teams from under-represented backgrounds will be prioritized in our curation.

• A Range of Experiences

  We want to showcase games of many kinds. Our final showcase will exhibit a range of games from the largest and most notable in our community to the smallest and strangest. We also want to ensure that there's a variety of different genres so that any guest can find something for them in the Game Garden.

• Conversation Starters

  We prioritize titles that present better in person than on a faceless digital store page. We're interested in multiplayer games, relaxing explorable spaces, and unconventional game mechanics.

Artist Alley

In addition to games, this year we're also hosting an artist alley featuring local artists and illustrators.

• Low Spec

  Our gallery theme this year is Low Spec. Low Spec encompasses styles ranging from pixel art, voxels, 3D low poly, and more. The style is usually characterized by a limited and/or deliberate colour palette, minimalist and stylized shapes. Portfolios submitted must include work which fits with this theme, and 90% of artwork displayed and sold at the event must align with this theme as well.

• Creators from British Columbia

  We want to spotlight artists working in British Columbia.

• Inspired by Video Games

  While not mandatory, we'll be looking for artwork that is inspired by and resonates with video game aesthetics so that it fits in well with our selection of video games.
